Rosy Tri Pagiwati, Dra., M.A.

Rosy Tri Pagiwati has been a lecturer at the Department of Communication, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia, since 2004. Her research interest is on Communication issues in micro perspective (Intrapersonal & Interpersonal levels), also Transcendental Communication.

Besides concentrating on communication study, Rosy shows a high interest in English. Prior to being a full-time lecturer in her alma mater, she had dedicated a lot of her time in English language teaching. Since at university, she has taught English in a number of English learning institutions and private companies. She was an English teacher at LIA (Lembaga Indonesia Amerika) in 1990-1995, also at the Indonesian Navy Headquarters (2004-2006).

In 2001 Rosy was granted the British Chevening Awards by the British Government to pursue an M.A. (Master of Arts) degree on Television Journalism in the Nottingham Trent University, England, U.K. She graduated in 2002 with a thesis under the title: “What is the Nature when Being British Conflicts with Being a Muslim? — An Exploration of the British Muslims’ Perception on the British Government’s Involvement in the Afghanistan War (Post-September Eleventh Incident) in relation to the British Muslim Identity”.

Before taking her masters study in England, Rosy was a TV news presenter at TVRI Surabaya, a local state-run television station in East Java (1997-2001). Returning back from the U.K. in 2003, she decided to get involved in the academic activities of her university homeland. For around two years from 2008-2010 she was Secretary to the Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia. The position has opened a wide opportunity for her to engage in some international collaboration projects.

When the International Joint-Degree Undergraduate Program in Communication was established, she was appointed Head of the Program. Currently she is the Secretary of the Department of Communication.

Nina Mutmainnah, Dra., M.Si., Dr.

Nina Mutmainnah Armando lahir di Jakarta, 26 Maret 1964, adalah dosen tetap di Departemen Ilmu Komunikasi FISIP UI.

Dalam dua tahun terakhir ini, Nina mengajar mata kuliah “Pengantar Ilmu Komunikasi”, “Psikologi Komunikasi”, “Sosiologi Komunikasi”, dan “Media & Masalah-Masalah Sosial Budaya” untuk program S1 dan D3/Vokasi.

Selain mengajar, Nina aktif berorganisasi dengan menjadi pendiri dan aktivis YPMA (Yayasan Pengembangan Media Anak). Lembaga ini adalah LSM media watch khusus media anak dan remaja. YPMA memiliki aktivitas antara lain memberikan pendidikan melek media (media literacy) bagi orangtua, guru, dan anak/remaja; mengadakan penelitian tentang penggunaan media oleh anak/remaja; serta menerbitkan newsletter panduan yang mengulas isi media (yakni Kidia). Nina menjadi pemimpin redaksi Kidia.

Nina juga menjadi penulis dan pembicara/trainer di berbagai diskusi/seminar/workshop tentang dampak media massa, media massa dan anak-anak/remaja, media literacy, dan buku/kebiasaan membaca. Selain itu Nina juga kerap kali menjadi juri untuk berbagai kompetisi yang terkait dengan buku, anak, dan budaya.
